Address a package for USPS

USPS recommends the return address at the top left, with the delivery address below it and to the right where space permits. Use clear capital letters. Include the recipient's name, apartment or suite number when needed, street address, city, state, and ZIP Code.

Attach the label in the same direction as the package's longest side. Keep it flat on one side of the package, clear of edges and other labels. The shipping label template prints addresses only. Pay for postage separately.

See USPS guidance on addressing and labeling a package for the full instructions.

Record what is in the package

Use a packing list to record the contents of a shipment. Find it with the other business documents.
